'Stellar Pink' is a crossbreed between Cornus florida and Cornus kousa. 'Stellar Pink' is derived from a group of six, relatively young, crossbreeds of florida and kousa which is called rutgerensis. This group is the result of 20 years of work by Elwin Norton from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Cornus 'Stellar Pink' grows out to a beautiful round shrub, which will not grow higher than 5m. This Cornus blossoms from mid-May and, depending on the weather conditions, can blossom for as long as 45 days. Cornus 'Stellar Pink' grows under the same conditions as its parents and is winterproof.
