Cornus kousa 'Samaritan' is a cultivar with beautiful cream white edged leaves. This cultivar was grown from seedlings of the Cornus kousa var. chinensis and therefore has somewhat larger leaves than the regular Cornus kousa. In autumn, the leaves color red and purple which, in combination with the white edged leaves, makes it a quite spectacular sight. Flowers appear in may/June and consist of four large white bracts. The cultivar is winterproof and is cared for in the same manner as the rest of the species.
