This cultivar was selected in 1951 by Henry Chase of Chase Nursery in Alabama, US. It is known for its cream white bracts and its blossoming reliability. 'Cloud 9' blossoms at young age. The bracts around the small flowers somewhat overlap and are a bit wider than the regular florida's. Similar to Cornus 'Florida', 'Cloud 9' also develops a spectacular color pattern in autumn before shedding. Taking care of the 'Cloud 9' is the same as for the rest of the species and the plant is completely winterproof.
